SCHLüTER RF 5 B-Sperber

The RF 5 B-Sperber is a 1:6-scale model of the full-size motor glider, combining graceful styling with versatile flying performance. Its efficient design delivers strong performance under power and excellent glide characteristics with the motor off. The model is suitable for conventional takeoffs and landings, even on rough ground, and can also be hand-launched.

The fuselage is made from fiberglass, with broad wing-root fairings that provide a smooth aerodynamic transition and a strong wing mounting. The engine is supported by an aluminium mount attached to a reinforced firewall, while the large fiberglass cowl is designed to allow effective cooling. The three-piece, foam-core wings have wooden sheeting: the center section is reinforced with fiberglass, and the outer panels attach with a sturdy plug-in connection. A distinctive linkage provides direct, low-slop aileron control. The foam-core, wood-sheeted tail surfaces can be permanently fixed or made removable.
