The Hawker Sea Fury was the final propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy and remains one of the fastest production piston-engine aircraft ever built. Although developed during World War II, it entered service shortly after the conflict and quickly proved its effectiveness, including combat use during the Korean War. Its design shared similarities with the earlier Hawker Tempest but featured a lighter structure and was powered by the highly capable Bristol Centaurus engine. Armed with four Hispano V cannons, the Sea Fury evolved into the FB11 fighter-bomber variant, making it a versatile and capable aircraft. The Sea Fury remained in service with the United Kingdom and several other nations into the late 1950s. Many examples have survived thanks to private collectors, often appearing at airshows or competing in events such as the Reno Air Races. The Avios Sea Fury 1200mm is a highly detailed replica of the FB11 variant, finished in the colors of Commander Peter “Hoagy” Carmichael. Built from durable EPO foam, it features a no-glue assembly and comes with electronics pre-installed. Scale details include functional flaps, retractable landing gear with doors, LED lighting, rockets, drop tanks, and interchangeable 4- and 5-blade propellers for both realism and performance.
