The Avios Super Tucano is a sophisticated model warbird that combines scale looks with sports plane performance. It offers low wing loading, solid stability, and excellent ground handling due to its tricycle landing gear and all-metal, sprung oleo struts. This makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots. The 6S power setup and 5-blade propeller provide significant power and torque, enabling large, confident maneuvers.
Aerobatically, the Super Tucano excels with a balanced, neutral feel, capable of performing complex 3D moves like hovering, rolling circles, and knife-edge loops. The "Plug N Fly" model includes large flaps for controlled landings, bright LED lights, and durable servoless retracts for smooth operation on various surfaces. It is powered by a 5052-525KV brushless motor and a 100A Aerostar RVS G2 ESC, with an option for reverse thrust to shorten landing runs. Control is managed by six 13g servos and a stronger 25g servo for the steerable nose gear.
The EPO airframe is lightweight yet strong, finished in a Philippine Air Force color scheme with shark mouth nose-art. Assembly is straightforward with minimal parts, and the detailed cockpit includes two pilot figures, enhancing realism. A large quick-release hatch provides easy access to the radio and battery compartments, allowing for rapid battery changes and potential FPV setups.
Overall, the Avios Super Tucano offers a blend of impressive power, stability, and realistic detail, making it a versatile choice for pilots of all skill levels.
