Xcalibur from Ripmax

Details

The JSM Xcalibur was developed to satisfy the need for an attractive, easy to fly and still fully aerobatic jet sports model. The Xcalibur is suitable for a wide range of thrust forces. Turbines between 50 and 100 N (approx. 5...10 kg) can be used. Designed to give a newcomer in the field of turbines an immediate sense of achievement, the Xcalibur with its excellent aerobatic characteristics and wide speed range will give even the experienced jet pilot much pleasure. The low-speed flight characteristics are also exceptional, especially when the extremely effective central airbrake is extended, enabling flight operations even in small areas. The optional towed and robust retractable undercarriages with oil damped shock absorbers also make handling on lawns very easy.
The fuselage and canopy of the Xcalibur are made of high-quality GRP, while the tail booms, wings and tail units are carefully constructed from CNC-milled balsa and plywood parts and covered with iron-on foil. The wings are pushed onto a strong CFRP plug-in tube, which is fastened with precisely formed clamps. The tail booms can also be removed quickly and easily for easy transport and space-saving storage. The Xcalibur is quick to build, with easy access to the turbine and the rest of the equipment, making maintenance and reliable operation much easier. A specially shaped tank allows flight times of around 10 min, depending on the installed turbine and the flying style.

Features:

  • fully aerobatic capable
  • perfect for grass runways
  • ideal for turbines with 50...100 N thrust (5...10 kg)
  • GRP fuselage and canopy
  • removable nose for easy access to the batteries
  • wooden parts covered in lightweight construction
  • formed landing gear shafts prevent the penetration of grass, small stones and moisture and thus protect the valuable and sensitive turbine.
  • quick and easy assembly/disassembly for transport and storage
  • optional large GRP tank available
  • very strong plug-in tube made of CFRP
  • excellent flight characteristics
  • optional retractable undercarriage with oil struts available
  • the smooth aerodynamic design minimizes drag and allows high flight speeds
  • the lightweight construction and the effective airbrake allow exceptionally slow approaches and landings
