The Alpha 2.0 is a great 200 cm (79") span F5J electric thermal soarer for sports and competition modellers wanting a smaller model. It is very light, well designed, and built to a very high standard. The Alpha 2.0's advanced structural design ensures it is strong enough for its intended mission, and its finish, completeness and attention to detail is outstanding. • A well designed low drag fuselage with good underwing access for easy RC installation and maintenance.
• A beautiful canopy hatch for magnetic fasteners for easy access to the powertrain and quick battery changes.
• A high aspect ratio wing with Drela airfoils optimised for F5J flying - the wing excels in tight thermal turns, allowing the model to be confidently climbed away from small, weak thermals.
• Despite its extremely good thermal performance the wings maintain a good L/D up to higher speeds, allowing the Alpha 2.0 to easily return from far downwind.
