The DHC-6 Twin Otter, introduced by de Havilland Canada in 1965, was built as a rugged STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) commuter aircraft, capable of operating in extreme environments—from the Antarctic to North African deserts. For nearly 60 years, it's been known for its unmatched reliability and versatility.
The E-flite Twin Otter 1.4m is a scale replica perfect for intermediate to experienced RC pilots looking for their first twin-engine model. It’s easy to fly, versatile, and packed with features like LED navigation and landing lights, flaps, and optional float mounts. The BNF Basic version adds AS3X+ technology for smoother flight, plus SAFE Select for easier handling, differential thrust, and motor reversing for enhanced ground control.
Its 1.4m wingspan offers excellent stability and a convenient size for flying at parks, fields, and even small lakes with optional floats (shared with Timber 1.2m and 1.5m models). Molded panel lines, striped counter-rotating props, and a modern trim scheme enhance its scale appearance.
Factory-installed Spektrum servos, a durable metal-gear nose servo, and a Dual Smart Lite ESC deliver precise control. Both versions are compatible with 3S and 4S 2200–3200mAh batteries and feature powerful outrunner motors. With its performance, scale looks, and smart features, the Twin Otter 1.4m is an exciting and capable twin model for a wide range of RC enthusiasts.
