VelociDrone is a fast paced multi-player and single player FPV drone racing simulator. Using real world racing drones you can fly through an unlimited array of custom tracks with a variety of gates and barriers to hone your racing skills. Some of the gates even move! Our Time attack mode also lets you set the pace and improve with every lap whilst racing against yourself.

VelociDrone Release Notes - March 2023 Release

• Fully updated and new UI designed by a professional UI developer.
• New Native Apple Silicon client for running on Apple M1/M2 processors.
• Qualify mode for 3 lap racing - in this mode you get ten starts of a race to upload your time, it does not matter if you finish those races, you get ten starts only to set your time.
• Factory - a new industrial warehouse scene. Race around a brightly lit mostly empty, high quality warehouse style environment.
• New Ship Port and Apocalypse maps in low poly style - these new maps are part of the coming mobile velocidrone release and are provided for desktop.
• Island (Freestyle pack) - complete remake of the island to make it a much more satisfying map to fly freestyle or create tracks on.
• Countryside - huge rework of the countryside map, much higher quality vegetation assets, much more height diversity in the terrain, white water rapids river section and high quality wooded areas, two radio antennas to dive.
• Reclassification of Empty PolyWorld and Dynamic Polyworld as no longer being Combat pack specific and open access to everyone. This is for racing purposes on velocidrone mobile - access to these scenes will not let you play combat unless you have the combat pack.
• Frame rate capping - you can now control your frame rate (with vsync off) with software based frame rate capping. Set your preferred fps and velocidrone will try to manage your fps to that level (assuming your graphics card is capable of running at that level).
• Freedom Spec quad - The Five33 Switchback Zero is offered in 3S form for Freedom Spec racing.
• Street League - Fly a Project 399 Prig, MadKwads MadOpen, Kauri-H, Five33 Spec 7 or TBS Source One 7” in Street League configuration.
• New 5” 6S Quads - Open Race Pro, Fox Racing V1, Southeast FPV Typhonv
• Updates to scenery, lighting and design of multiple existing scenes. Incorporating upgraded vegetation and higher quality scenery assets.
• Downloading new “verified” tracks (official tracks) no longer requires a simulator restart in order to see them in your track list.
• Support for velocidrone mobile - track building for the new mobile maps and cross system racing via nemesis.
• Support for LeagueOS websocket communication for streamers.
• Three levels of decreasing complexity for the in game heads up display (Normal down to minimal UI) to decrease screen UI clutter when racing.
• New track editor layout tool that will give you a spreadsheet printout for accurately laying out your simulator track in real life.
• Numerous other quality of life improvements, to the UI, scenes and tracks.

Fixes

• Update to immediate start to reduce quad instability on reset.
• Update to multiplayer race start to do a double release to try to avoid quads getting stuck on the start grid at race start.
• Efficiency updates to the sim controller code to reduce CPU overhead.
• Fix missing resolutions and inability to select resolutions in screen settings for M1/M2 Apple Silicon running through Rosetta (but ideally these users should change to the Native Apple Silicon client).
• Lots of other minor fixes and efficiency updates to the overall code base.
