The RF-4D is a highly detailed 1:4 scale model designed for realistic performance and elegant scale flying. Its large airframe accommodates a retractable landing gear and effective airbrakes. The model can be powered by suitable SAITO four-stroke engines or an electric motor, with a vibration-damping engine mount recommended for single-cylinder engines.
Aerodynamically and geometrically twisted wings, combined with a low wing loading, provide smooth, balanced handling. The RF-4D is ideal for relaxed cruising but remains capable of traditional aerobatics such as loops, turns, and rolls when flown with precision. Airbrakes allow accurate approaches and help keep fuel consumption low during throttle-reduced flight.
The two-piece wing uses a strong 18 mm duraluminium joiner, while the tailplane is securely mounted with carbon tubes. A high-quality fiberglass fuselage, detailed ABS cockpit interior, split fiberglass cowling, and specially designed sprung retracts with 95 mm tires complete this impressive scale aircraft.
