The Big Lift has been in use in many clubs since the mid-1970s and has made a major contribution to the spread of glider towing for model aircraft. In addition, it can be used just as well for training and instruction tasks. However, the construction effort was always quite large and tedious. We have consistently taken this into account in the revision of the Big Lift. The good features of the proven Big Lift have remained, but a lot of work has been taken off the model builder's hands. The wooden parts of the fuselage and the wing and tail surfaces are already very far prefabricated. This reduces the construction time considerably.
