Juna 2 Strong from Sansibear

Details

On September 30, 2019, we released the JUNA 1. As a real "stay up" she quickly became a very popular model for the weaker days. When the first Corona Lock Down came in the spring of 2020 and the airfields were closed, the JUNA 1 became a real hit. Set up ready to fly and quick to have according to the circumstances, it manifested itself as our "lock down darling". It could be transported comfortably on foot to the next meadow and enjoyed there alone the spring thermals.
Already in late summer, about exactly 1 year after its release, we decided to give the model a major update. Wings and tails were still made as foam solid-core wings using the positive sandwich method. This is basically nice, but it also means that every single wing is unique. We always wanted accurately identical shell surfaces and so molds were made. When you have the opportunity to do this, you naturally recalculate the model.
So now there is a slightly new geometry and a few new technical changes.

  • The wings are now more elliptical which brings the SP back a bit.
  • The wings have a little more wing area which gives a little more room for harder/heavier building without increasing the wing loading compared to the JUNA1.
  • The elevator could be reduced in size and has a new profile. > Less drag.
  • The rudder has a new shape. Just for the better look <3
  • The linkages for ailerons and flaps are carbon LDS like on the JUNA XL and also already installed on the ARF version.
  • The servos for the tail now sit at the bottom of the fuselage under the wing. This shortens the bowden cables and gives us more space in the front of the fuselage.
  • More space for battery and RC components in the front of the fuselage.
  • The fuselage could be shortened a bit because of the new wings and tailplane.
  • The canopy and the "servo cover" are made of glass. After several test flights it is now clear. The antennas can stay inside. One on top under the canopy, the other below, behind the "lid". Thanks to Uwe Neesen for this idea.
  • In the Strong version the whole "fuselage boat" is made of glass. Here you can put all the antenna stuff in and there is no problem with small GPS equipment.
  • Concerns only RTF: The servos as well as the drive have been updated which means a considerable quality increase especially for the drive.

Although I do my best to complete this library, you may not find the model you are looking for.

In this case, do not hesitate to ask me to add it : You're not bothering me. Please be patient, depending on my workload, I may take a few days to work on your model and gather information.

I'm sometime asked to add a non flying model to this library but unfortunately, it's not the focus of this website
